Adoption Process

Remington and Electra - Rescued and Adopted
There is a knack to finding a good match for a pet and a family and we pride ourselves on taking time and care in doing that. The comfort and safety of the animals is our primary concern. Our shelter is not open to the public. If you are interested in adopting a pet you MUST fill out an application to be considered for adopting. The volunteers at Ahimsa Rescue Foundation act as agents for the pets in our care. The pets’ comfort and safety is our primary concern. When your adoption application is received and approved you will receive an e-mail within 24-48 hours to set up a convenient time for you to meet the pet. Visits are by appointment only. Ahimsa Rescue provides collars, leashes and ID’s for the newly adopted pets. Ahimsa Rescue Foundation is concerned for the welfare of our pets and will check with you occasionally to see how things are going. We are available to help you at any time with the pet should an issue arise. It is Ahimsa’s policy that the pet must be returned to us if you become unable to keep it at any time during his/her life. The pets’ best interest is our primary concern. Thank you for considering adopting a homeless companion.

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful, and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion. .....Author unknown
