Ahimsa Rescue Foundation is proud to announce that the former Muldrow Nursing Facility (25,000 square feet sit on 4 acres) is now our new home and the site of our soon to be renovated new shelter, sanctuary, adoption facility and will provide a safe haven for our homeless dogs and cats for years to come. A great opportunity for us to help thousands of companion animals. And you can be part of it.
We need to raise the necessary funds to complete the actual renovation. To this end, Ahimsa Rescue Foundation is offering many naming opportunities, from interior/outdoor doggie dens for $5000 to our new cat condo room for $10,000. The family, foundation, or corporation that sponsors our low-cost spay/neuter clinic and recovery center for $100,000 will have their name displayed on a plaque for all to see. Individuals who donate $5000 will have their names displayed above an indoor/outdoor kennel and the hundreds of dogs housed in that run over the next thirty years will have a safe place to stay due to their generosity. All donations, large and small will be greatly appreciated and will help us realize our dream of a safe place for our animals. Please also consider discussing our naming opportunities and Capital Campaign with your civic organization, school, clubs, friends or colleagues at work.
And why support Ahimsa Rescue Foundation's Capital Campaign?
Sequoyah County does not have a Humane Society, and local city pounds only accept animals from within city limits.
People in rural areas have no place to turn when they have a stray or unwanted animal.
People are forced to abandon animals to an almost certain miserable death. Animals are abandoned, thrown out as trash, and left to die lonely and tormented deaths. Ahimsa Rescue Foundation is working to correct this situation.
Ahimsa Rescue Foundation members are trained in animal cruelty investigating. Ahimsa Rescue Foundation aids and assists the enforcement of laws enacted for the prevention of animal cruelty. Ahimsa Rescue Foundation provides programs and services which strengthen the bond between animals and people. Through grass roots advocacy, education, legal intervention, and rescue, Ahimsa Rescue is the leading voice for animals in crisis in our area.
Ahimsa Rescue Foundation is the largest animal rescue in Sequoyah County that spays or neuters every dog and cat prior to placement. We are also the largest animal rescue in Sequoyah County conducting home visits prior to placement for each and every animal we place.
Ahimsa Rescue has rescued hundreds of animals. Once our shelter is complete, we will be able to increase the number of dogs and cats we can house comfortably.
Our new shelter will provide a temporary sanctuary for homeless animals while they receive medical care and are rehabilitated by our volunteers.
The spacious facility will provide an ideal space for training our dogs. Teach a dog to walk well on a leash, or to sit on command, or to offer his paw, and that dog has a better chance of finding a home.
Ahimsa Rescue Foundation is a no-kill shelter, boasting one of the highest placement rates in the country, ninety percent.
Our four acres will provide our dogs ample room in which to run and play.
We have a passionate team of committed volunteers who provide care for every animal in our rescue every single day of the year. They bathe dogs, transport animals back and forth to the vets, and interview prospective families.
Our new shelter will include large kennel runs (the majority of our runs will be indoor/outdoor), a cat room that allows cats to intermingle and roam free, a puppy room that resembles a nursery, and an isolation ward with an area for animals recovering from surgery.
Our "Renovation" Campaign will ultimately raise $200 thousand dollars to cover construction costs. Almost half of that amount has already been raised. We need your help to reach our goal, so please, join us in making a difference in the lives of the thousands of animals that will benefit from our new facility. All gifts to the campaign are fully tax-deductible and pledges may be paid over three years with cash or securities.
Ahimsa Rescue Foundation’s Director of Development, Don R. Morton, will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our "Renovation" Campaign. If you would like to support our campaign or discuss our naming opportunities, Don can be reached by calling 918-427-5087 or by emailing molarmortn@aol.com.
